I need some abet in decipher some bolt head markings. I just now acquired a voluminous lot of jet engine 12 point fastener. They are mostly a-286, but some are supposed to be Rene 41, and I'm trying to find out how to distinguish them. There are different numbers on them, and I was hoping they could report to me what I need to know. Some are R315, R314, and R313, which I believe are a-286. Others voice A10, 6860754, EH19, and two MS numbers (MS89667-15 and MS9566). The Rene 41 bolts were said to be GE bolts, do they enjoy a specific marking I should look for?
Any thoughts, or are these numbers meaningless to me? Do Rene 41 bolts enjoy any distinct characteristics?
Thanks in finance for any assistance.
Answers: All those numbers have a implication. If you can gain access to a substitution book from a boeing or Douglas aircraft it could be researched . I have see those numbers in my years of working on aircraft .
