Why have most plane crashes been by TWA jets?

Question:
Because when you look onto say, Wikipedia, and write plane crashes, the list shows a majority to be TWA.

Answers:
On wikipedia, these are the documented crashes. There are probably a few more that haven't been uploaded.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/list_of_acc...

TWA started in 1926. These were troubled times for aviation, and a majority of these crashes have occurred before the 50's. Safety began to improve. Another factor was TWA's size. They were very large and flew millions of hours. This means that TWA wasn't inherently more dangerous than it's counterparts but had simply flew more. The more flights, the larger the chance of accidents. That's why the number looks so big.
How many planes are they flying? would not the largest carrier and the one with the most planes flying the most miles have a higher incident rate?
Perhaps they have traditionally had more flights in the air, making them more likely to have a crash. All airlines use the same planes, built by a particular number of manufacturers. The percentage of crashes per flights would be more accurate than the highest number of crashes.
There was a time that TWA flew the most commercial flights of all the commercial transport companies. It would stand to reason that would sustain the most losses. Incidentally, TWA filed for bankruptcy a few years ago and no longer exists.
Guys, TWA is no more. They went under years ago. Thought you should know.
My father always used to say, "Never speak evil of the dead."

May TWA rest in peace.

Amen.
Allow me to suggest a more reliable source of information about airline crashes:

www.faa.gov/safety/national_tr...

This is the official site for the National Transportation Safety Board that investigates all aircraft accidents and incidents in the USA and any accidents outside the USA involving aircraft manufactured by a US manufacturer.

At this date, I can assure you with perfect confidence that you will never risk an accident of any kind if you fly on TWA. It went out of business and flew its last official flight on December 1, 2001.
Maybe the webmaster at wikipedia was fired by TWA?

No real reason for this.
The "most accidents' title doesn't belong to TWA!
It belongs to American Airlines.

Accident statistics are a function of flights flown. The greater the number of flights, the greater the odds of more accidents.
Here is a comparison of all aircraft accidents and.incidents by all US airlines that had the same relative age as TWA:

American Airlines 83
Delta Airlines 51
United Airlines 73
Trans World/TWA 66

TWA was purchased and merged into American Airlines, so if you take that into account only then would they have the "most crashes".
As aviatirxx pointed out your statistics are flawed. It was also pointed out that TWA was a pioneer when commercial aviation was virtually experimental. I don't know what you vendetta is but you might try do a little more research before you besmirch a good name.
No theyre twits try BIG BALLS AIRLINES theyre not like the ******* in jet blue buy ur ticket now in fact buy a pair
Please tell me you are not using Wiki as THE authority on plane accidents.

Please tell me you have looked at other places, like, say, the NTSB's website...
wikipedia is not a good source for aviation, or any other technical field.

ntsb.gov is better
All planes are the same--only the lettering and stripes are different--so I guess the pilots or the mechanics at TWA have issues
