1986 imperial marquis turn signal trouble...?

Recently I was driving my 86 Grand marquis and the turn signals started blinking speedily then slow and finally basically turned off. So i figure I'd change the front bulbs( the support lights work great). So i did and its still giving me the same problem..im guessing a shortage or i necessitate to replace where the bulb is inserted. I tightly inserted the departed bulb light and it be flashing perfectly for a well brought-up while then it go back to the flashing out of tone and etc. A few weeks pay for i replaced the flasher module,,the one that goes below the steering wheel. Dont know what else to try dolefully it will not be taken for a cruise until its fixed I hate to win a ticket because of turn signals.

Any help??

PS: If i do surface to have to replace where on earth the bulb is inserted will i be able to do it myself or should it be taken to a professional.?

Answers:    MY 98 LINCOLN DOES THAT TURNING RIGHT , I HAVE TO PUSH THE LEVER SLOW , OR IT FLASHES FAST AND THE DASH LIGHT DONT COME ON . CHECK ALL YOUR FLASHER BULBS AND IF ONE IS OUT IT WILL CAUSE IT NOT TO FLASH RIGHT , YOU CAN CHANGE THEM YOURSELF
There is a device call a flasher that makes your turn signals flash. It will do this if the flasher is going impossible sometimes. It is not an expensive repair. Try having that done.
