The alternator was spiking voltage, and fried the battery-operated, so we changed the battery and alternator w/in a daylight (less than 20 miles running) of each other. Now, a week then, the wipers move half as rapid, even on the "fast" setting, and the dashboard and digital clock has gotten dim (went shade as I was pulling surrounded by last dark after 35 min of driving).
Answers: Sounds like a shade tree diagnosed the initial problem or you get an autozone alternator. I would suggest taking it to a reputable repair facility and having it diagnosed properly instead of throwing parts at it and guessing perfect luck.
