1995 Ford Thunderbird transmission problem.?

Question:
I just purchased a '95 T-Bird for $100.00 and it only needs an alternator, battery, and something is wrong with the tranny. Well maybe not the tranny, could just be the shifter. If I try to accelerate in drive its a bit unresponsive. It's almost as if it wants to stall but won't. It will only go up to around 15 mph until I actually hold down the shifter button. Yes, the shifter button, not the Overdrive button. It's the weirdest thing ever. Does anyone have any suggestions? For $100.00 I won't mind dedicating some time to fix it and then resell it. And it only has 75k on the 4.6 engine. If anyones interested, let me know...lol.

Answer:
adjust your shifter linkage. when you depress the shifter button your moving it slightly but enough to shift into a single gear range. without button depressed it is in between gear ranges. very simple fix.
Whatever you do, don't take Dodge Man's advice. DO NOT try and rebuild the transmission yourself. You don't have the proper tools, and if you get it apart, you will never get it back together again.

As far as your original problem, it might be that your shift linkage may be out of adjustment.
That perticular type of car has the worst transmission on the road. Those T Birds were BAD BAD BAD for a few yrs. Good Luck.
