Should the front struts be on the same wavelength softer or harder than the backside shocks?

I put adjustable Koni's on my '96 T-bird which is lowered with 2" Eibach Pro Kit springs. Aside from it person my own preference, what would be the solid method of adjusting my front struts and reverse shocks to get the "correct" stability going in my favor? Softer/harder within front or the back? I similar to it on the firm side and have adjectives 4 set identical as of in a minute at a half or 1 turn from the firmest setting. Common sense tell me I should have the struts within front set at least a 1 or I don`t know a half turn softer than within the rear. Am I right or should it be the other channel around?

Answers:    Here's the deal. You installed greater rate per inch of spring travel coil springs in your coup¨¦ therefore your front struts must be in synch to a tighter - stiffer setting to prohibit excess bouncing of the higher rate coils surrounded by the front. The rears can be in the swing of things a touch softer because the rear coils are not nearly as glorious rate as the front.

You are extremely lucky that you've selected struts and shocks next to adjustability in the valving.

You'll know when you've hit the correct go together. The car should bounce once one and only at each terminate if the shocks are adjusted correctly. Concentrate on the backside end first as you're setting closer to the reverse springs and shocks.

Short choppy bouncing is a tip-off that the shocks and struts are adjusted too soft. Keep contained by mind that the ride is going to be much stiffer because of the high spring rates.

You should ponder about accumulation a strut tower brace to tie the towers together. The uni-body is not strong enough to knob the twist of the glorious rate springs.

Struts and shocks have definitely nothing to do near body roll in corners. The springs and sway bar control body roll
Factory setting would be the same firmness adjectives the way around. I used to firm up the hindmost end to aid handling way backbone in the 60s and 70s when most domestic cars have way too much body roll. So I would stir with what feel best to you by the old form of the pants examination. Personally, it sounds to me as if you have the settings right around where they belong.
