How can I create a power steering hose work on a 76 chev pu when the engine is a few years newer?

The fittings changed one year and I can only trademark one end trademark

Answers:    You can change the fitting surrounded by the rear of the power steering pump.

I did this on my 1988 camaro..

I used a 1970 monte carlo PS pump, and my stock 1988 PS hose.

If you look at the subsidise of the pump, where the row screws within, you will see theres a big nut there.. Loosen that nut up and remove it.. Now you can do matching other style pump and just swap the fittings over.

Then your stock hose will screw right contained by
Swap out the power-steering pump or the rack and pinion.
most auto parts stores should have correct adapter...if that fail get elder pump...try hemmings motor news ...on queue...
It would be cheaper to go to a second-hand goods yard and achieve the right part but progress to a farm supply store they get the fittings you need to buy
Go to tractor supply and own a new hose made or use elderly style pump. One year shouldnt matter.
Hmm, I swapped a 454 out of a 1976 Suburban and put it surrounded by a 1985 P'up or was it the other road around? I think I newly used the the '85 pump and got a unmarked high pressure hose.

One method or the other I found one that fit. There is more than one choice. The hose might not look identical (fittings) but it will fit as within screw into the pump and the gear box. Don't limit your explore to just one model and one year. These GM pumps be in trucks range from 1/2-ton to 40-ton, 18-wheelers. The gear box is different when you get into the bigger trucks so there's have to be some mix and match of the hoses.

If it's the return hose you can use any "plumbing" nouns to hook-up the hose to the gear box since there's no pressure concerns. I've found some odds and ends at those outmoded time hardware stores and or in the engine cooling section in auto parts stores. There are nouns shops that use the same "plumbing" pieces too when something get stripped or whatever.

Good Luck!

P.S. Check next to LMCtruck if you can't piece it together with your sources.
