if i understand correctly, the difference is basically the coupler, you can change it out to a king-pin one, possibly some welding/fabbing involved but should be possible

I have assumed the the gooseneck trailer is a 5th tiller trailer.
goosenecks and 5th wheels arent indistinguishable, the coupling is different. goosnecks have a regual globe hitch mounted in the bed, 5th wheel have a coupler that slides into a lock, similar to a semi trailer
