I have a 92 mercury sable. When my speed get to 70-80km/h the check engine light comes on, if I slow down or stop it will jump off. Also if I've be driving for about 30 minutes it will come on and stay on. Its a great sports car, drives great and always starts surrounded by the extreme cold. It had a hot starter put in this summer and ever since I've have check engine light trouble.
It used to stay on adjectives the time until I put some fuel injector cleaner in near the gas, now it solely happens as I described above. Getting a newer saloon is not an option, nor is a huge garage bill. Any suggestions that i could do myself?
Answers: my sports car did the same point and it was the muffler censor. who care? if it's bothering you then pilfer it in, but I would hold tight until it act up when you aren't doing something strenuous to it.
it sounds like it MIGHT be a censor..but i'm sure you can jump to a shop and ask them to hook up the computer to it to see the problem for free!
