It quit on me the other day while I be driving, I know its not the alternator or the starter. I changed the solenoid thinking it may be that, but my truck still isn't starting. It turns over but it backfires and basically wont turn on. can someone tell me waht it may be?
Answers: Your Ford could hold a timing problem. If it is really old as contained by before electronic ignition, it could be the points hold slipped but, I'll bet it is the timing. One of my Fords did exactly the same entity. It required a new timing tie up. Newer models may have timing belts.
