at first I was told it be the belt, then I be told it was the tensioner pully, and lastly I be told it was the alternator.
If it's the alternator bearing, would my check engine light or freestyle light come on..??
I be told that they would squeel and rattle until the alternator locks up...is this true ? how long after the clap starts will it lock up..??
Answers: My uncle had this same problem on like kind of coup¨¦ about 2 months ago. A mechanic told him that if the bearing are going out, you MAY or MAY NOT be able to find play within the shaft/pulley when there is no tautness on it. If it is the bearings going out, depending on how much you drive everyday, it may ending a month, but 2-3 at the max. You can get a remanufactured alternator at autozone for not alot of money.
Take it to a definite shop and have it diagnosed properly. If it's the alternator bearing there will be no check engine muted. I would change it out asap if surrounded by fact its the alternator because I hold seem them annex up and throw the serp belt off.
