I had the ac/dc converter burn up on the AC side, the DC side is still working. we live surrounded by the rv full time at one permanant address, so im wondering if there would be a problem beside eliminating that converter and a moment ago installing a regular breaker box and re-wiring the rv so that it would be the same setup as a typical house. the parts that would be needed could be obtained at a place approaching home depot-vs- spending over $500.00 at an rv dealer. what do you have an idea that??
Answers: You can't use the same electrics on the DC side. If you use a breaker box between AC inside power lines and outside power and a 15 amp breaker it should be OK. But I think you should own someone check out your wire size and type to take home sure it's sized right for the job. Remember that RV's budge up like a roman candle surrounded by an electrical fire. If you blew out the inverter your running to much stuff and overloading the system. Overload = fire. Most people don't live through an RV fire.
Save $500 and burn up the RV. Not a well-mannered idea! The converter also works as a isolater.
