It can cause intermittant no-start issuses becuase the remote start electrics it hooked up to the ignition switch wiring, by doing that, it can amendment the resistance value to the factory alarm system( pass-lock II) and cash the code value. I own had to remove a few of the remote starts on a few GM cars within the past because of this issue
