should be, mine was, mine kept on skipping songs even brand new cds (non plagered) so they got a new one and put it in.
Even under bumper to bumper warranty if may not be covered. If there is any external damage to the radio or if some other outside influence, coins, liquids, could void the warranty. Also on some factory CD players have trouble playing burned Cd's. Its recommend if you use a burned CD do not use any labels. The Cd's get hot in car players and caused the labels to pull up and cause the Cd's to get stuck
