I'm having car trouble. Read below?

Question:
When I tried to start my jeep it wouldn't start so I used my other car and gave it a jump. The lights and radio came on but the engine wouldn't start. So I asked my cousin to try to start the car while I went to look at the engine. I looked while she tried and there was a belt in there that was turning but it kept on stopping. Why was that? I know the oil needs to be changed so could that be it. I really need help. Help from professionals would be greatly appreciated or from anyone that knows what they are talking about.

Answer:
If you're trying to jumpstart a car with a dead battery, let the "good" car idle for five minutes or so while hooked up to the dead car so that the dead battery can get some of it's charge back.

It's probably just doesn't have enough voltage to turn the starter very fast.

Give it a little time to recharge, then try again.
try to take off belt, you may have a sezid pully and alternator, try to turn pullys with belt off by hand. Get a good battery with a full charge and see if it starts.
Maybe the alternator belt needs replaced
