Car lock box?

You know those boxes they put in cars? They're black boxes that attach to the steering wires & you enjoy to put in a code to start the sports car? Car dealerships install them in the motor? What are they called & where on earth can I find a picture of this? Trying to explain to a friend.

Dunno if they still use those in the states, saw them within my car when I lived surrounded by the caribbean.

Answers:    it's just a steering pedals lock, many different kind
