1990 FORD F150 rattle when accelerate any planning?

When you get up departed 60 mph it rattles somewhat loud when you touch the gas peddle. Like maybe something could be loose somewhere. Any idea's on what it might be.

Also the truck will drive surrounded by gears 1-3 but when it gets up to in the order of 55mph it wants to drop out of gear. But if you put it in lately drive and not over drive then it wont go underwater out of gear at 55mph. I took it to the transmission shop and they said it's probably the overdrive decoration and said it would cost 1200 to fix. Is that about the right price?
