Answers: You did not mention the type of coup¨¦ you own, but for 99.9% of the vehicles made it is best to remove the four bolts holding the lover blade. Watch out though, you can easily cut your hand on the sharp edges of the radiator!
The larger bolt in the middle (the 32mm bolt for you) holds the supporter clutch. On most cars that bolt is threaded backwards (as you suspected).
If you are swapping out your water pump after you'll definitely inevitability to remove the fan clutch. Normally, it is easier to do so by placing the mature water pump surrounded by a vise since that center bolt is often VERY tight.

Every fan I've ever taken past its sell-by date just requires the removal of the 4 bolts. Never have to use a spanner?, or unscrew one.
