Clutch engage starter (BMW E46)?

Hello,

The problem is that sometimes when the car is start and I push the clutch, it engage the starter too and I hear that rattling din (that you hear if you try ignition when the car is already start). Initially I thought that the clap is coming from the bearing within the clutch (wearing out), but now I am pretty sure that it is because of this starter. Also, sometimes, if the coupé key is within “ON” position, and I push the clutch, the car starts.

Any theory? Any solution? I just get the starter replaced two months ago, can it bcz of improper starter connections?

Thank you.

Answers:    Your Starter RELAY is stuck and every time you push the Clutch within, It thinks it is supposed to occupy the starter. It is a safety phase so that you can not start the car lacking pushing the clutch in.
From your description of the problem it sounds resembling the clutch linkage is coming in contact next to the starter. I'd take it wager on to the place that replaced the starter and have them correct it or you can own some one push the clutch in while you look at the starter and see what it is doing next you can tell the repair shop what you know it is doing and they should give somebody a lift care of it at no cost.
