Can a malfunctioning nouns lower gas milage?

My 2005 Chevy Impalas transmission be malfunctioning bad, really impossible.

-The car would yank when you'd put it into drive after backing out of the driveway
-When I would do a "tough take off" from a stand it would tremble really bad and stir on like middle-of-the-road.

But I had full up it up with gas to the "F" and by the wrap up of the day I'd driven close to 20 miles and it was already at the 3/4 inscribe on the guage. It's in the GM trader right now, but would the nouns have cause that?

Answers:    Yes, the transmission would own been working against the engine, because of the snappy taking off and "jerking" you vote, the engine would have needed more power to move the motor as it would of normally.
careless is sounds like universe joint to me. a transmission to lower gas mileage would own to be slipping and you could tell that by the nouns of the engine running away and the car not keeping up speed not getting rotten the line and slipping shift. Or locked up within a lower gear. But you should not use a 1/4 tank of gas for 20 miles. Are you sure you do not smell gasoline
