How can I check to see if in attendance is something wrong near my Vtec solenoid?

How can i check it and how can I fix it, also abot how much would it cost to replace it, and is there anyway that I could do a engine check its a 95?

You can oral exam almost any solenoid with a DVOM, if the solenoid shows any resistance at adjectives it probably is good, if you know for sure what voltage the solenoid is you can apply the proper voltage to the terminal and it should actuate.
