Can I transfer the knob blade on my VW push button fob to a strange harmonious knob fob from Ebay?

My girlfriend has purely bought a VW Beetle and the key is not great. There are Ebayers selling contemporary key fobs beside uncut blades but a local VW dealer told me that I would be unqualified to get a push button blade cut as they only come from Germany. Is this true? Dealer charging lb190.00 for tentative blade, fob and re-programming. Thought about buying one of Ebay but this may not be a right idea! Then thought around buying one of Ebay and then switching over dated blade to new blipper but would this work? Does it call for re-programming and if so can this be done without going through a VW Dealership as they are a rip stale? Can anyone help please?

nope your going to hold to go to the dealership if you want the undertaking done right and done the first time
Assuming you are thinking of the folding VW key a roll pin holds the blade to the knob so in principle you could shift the blade but you would have to shift to a main contractor to have the current key synched to the sports car which would also require you taking all existing key as well
I enjoy just have a quote for a new push button from a VW dealership.

Reprogramming - need to transport car and ancient key to workshop 40 pounds.

They required sight of the V5 for the sports car and my photo drivers license or passport.

I have see the blank metal bits on ebay for 3-5 pounds, a message on a forum about paying 10 pounds to own it cut.
I have also see the remote thingy at 20-50pounds on ebay. You would still call for to spend 40-60 pounds for the programming at a VW dealership.

I think I will procure my whole knob from the dealership.
