***HELLLO*** tire grill for adjectives you smart dudes!?!??!?!?

Okay. So i drive a '00 isuzu Rodeo LS 4x4. My tire size is 245/70R16. I bought some tires yesterday... size is 255/70R16. Now, my dad says they will fit only just fine, even tho they are a lil bit higher. both are 6 lugs.
The rims on these tires that i bought, are different, Id prefer to hold on to those on, since they came next to the tires, than the ones my car have now. My dad is describing me, that the lugs should fit fine, but the 'mount' ( the round part contained by the middle, i think its connected to the rotor or some crap similar to that) is bigger on my car, than it is on these bright rims. So he suggests that i take them to a tire shop, chage the TIRES over to the rims thats on my sports car now, and a moment ago get rid of the rims thats on these bright tires. He wont even try to put them on first. Hes making that assumption.
So, my question is, does this nouns normal!? or even possible?! Shouldnt that round item in the middle of the bolts, be alike size!?!?! i just requirement an opinion, anything would lend a hand.
Thank you!

Answers:    more than likely your dad is right but whip a tire and wheel stale the vehicle and try one of the new ones on and see if everything clears, (rotors and brake calipers) and if they do you can use them.
No it should not. So whip one off and try it. But what he suggest is probably the smart item to do. You know your wheels fit.
