ok so, my 2001 jetta is blinking the check engine light when I turn it on surrounded by the morning, then piddling for awhile, until it get going and acts as though it's not getting the umph it requests to drive or idle usually. It sounds as though it wants to stall out, it hasn't however, but I am afraid it will with a business of time. It has individual been doing it after it hasn't be turned on for a day or so. Any concept? I am really hoping it's just the spark plugs. Also, after the check engine lights blinks for awhile and I drive it around for a bit, the check engine neutral stops blinking but does stay on. Does anyone have any thought what might be happening? It's a 4cl.
Answers: When the wishy-washy is blinking it is telling you that catalyst sabotage is going to occor beacause one or more cylinders are not firing and raw fuel is going surrounded by to the converter. Spark plug may help the proplem but you should see which cylinder is missing by have someone check the codes, you may need to replace the coil pack for the cylinder explicitly miss firing as well
Aren't the Jetta's diesel? Diesels don't hold spark plugs.
