Answers: Dude....If the car is getting 2500 rpm and not moving as it should...any your emergency brake is stuck...or your tranny said good bye. I'm thinking you lost the low gear(s) contained by the tranny, then when you attain it going fast adequate..3rd gear kicks contained by and drives somewhat normally. Sorry.....Good Luck!
I would agree beside sun valley if it be a higher speed, sophisticated rpm problem ...like you take it up to 50 mph and it dies....that is not the skin according to your question.
My Grand Prix GT (2000 model) be doing that. I took it back to the GM dealership and consent to them look at it...they replaced the fuel pump, said the transmission be fine, but the next week I have to take it right support (but my motor had to be replaced...I'm getting a FOURTH motor put contained by as we speak...the pistons keep breaking). I suggest over all that problem WAS the fuel pump, but it may own been related to the engine problems.
It may merely be too expensive at this point to repair a '95 Sunfire. I know it was too much total to fix my Grand Prix ($4500 spent this summer alone).
Could be several things, i assume it is an automatic? Could be Mass nouns flow sensor , fuel filter, fuel pump, inefficient spark, plugged exhaust possibly, or could be transmission related . I would check or start near a fuel filter and if car is getting hot a thermostat to start in attendance.
is it a manual nouns the clutch may be slipping and time for you to replace it you said that it was turning 2500 rpm if automatic transmissiom it may be slipping and time for a rebult one
YOU SHOULD GET THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED AND CHECK FOR ANY PROBLEMS AS WELL AS CODES AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT THE PROBLEM TRULY IS.
TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.
LEAVE IT THERE WITH THEM SO THAT THEY CAN FIND THE PROBLEM FOR YOU, IT WILL BE A LOT BETTER THAN JUST REPLACING PART AFTER PART AND NOT DOING ANY GOOD.
It sounds similar to you have tranny problems -low grease or filter problems.THE BANDS in the tranny possibly slipping( they act as clutches) they can be in synch at the time a new filter grease is replaced. ps main body front pump may be on it's finishing leg. check tranny dip stick-- does oil smell approaching it' burnt.
throw it away and buy another
