Answers: You should not own a problem with the computer unless the vehicle have a stock immobilizer system (call the dealership to find out). If your replacing the steering column I would recommend you have your exisiting knob coded to the replacement ignition switch so you don't have to depend on your keyless entry. It's lately easier have one switch for everything. Plus, if you do have an immobilizer system you don't own to worry roughly speaking reprogramming the key.
The push button IS programmed to the computer NOT the ignition switch or steering column. The signal runs through the switch and wiring harness to the engine control module. The dealership can confirm that!
