Engine Light come on within our 2006 Chevy Cobalt after my husband forced extra gas when wadding the reservoir.?

I am sure its a guy thing topping past its sell-by date? Now I am betting him its gonna cost him at the dealership just to exam to see what is wrong. Will the light shut sour on its own?

Answers:    first of all, within the US, as long as you are under 3yrs and 36k miles you are covered lower than a federal emissions ruling and the dealership CANNOT legally charge for a diagnostic. your check engine desk light is an indicator that reads your OBD (On Board Diagnostic). Most states (like Texas) use this for emission testing....topping past its sell-by date the tank wont trip the wishy-washy. i will bet you the code from the diagnostic is an "Evap system leak" which means.... you didn't tighten the gas panama enough. cause sure it clicks 3 times. then budge get the PCM flashed (for free). i bet it wont come subsidise on. 90% of the time on newer cars that come into my shop, this is the problem.
no, it is nothing to "worry" give or take a few except gas vapors are escaping from your fuel tank... i.e. your waisting gas and at $3 a gallon.....
I don't suggest topping off the cistern is going to cause the engine hurricane lantern to go on. Is the fuel cap/door expand?
