Does anyone know where on earth is the EGR sensor is surrounded by 97 Altima, and if I verbs it will abet to smoothen the ride?

I have engine check street light on. my mechanic said it's EGR sensor that needs to be changed (after doing electronic test). some one suggested that i should verbs it, and the car should be smoother. my coup¨¦ is 97 altima. 136k mileage, just have tune up done.

also if possible necessitate to know the location of egr and pic. i could not find it anywhere.

Answers:    The EGR tap can be cleaned with a soft steel cable brush, usually though it's just as unproblematic to replace it with a foreign one. EGR valve is located at backside of engine, it's a sort of saucer looking valve that have a couple lines electric and vacuum coming out of it . They are very natural to find, please know what you're doing. Please replace gasket when done cleaning.

you will not be able to see your egr if it is internal egr this is when some of the exhaust gas just stay surrounded by the cylinder instead of leaving

if you hvae external afterwards it should be somewhere on the exhaust manifold
