Does a drumbeat pandemonium miserable impossible word for your engine?

I've heard that when you hear a beating noise surrounded by your engine it means it is any a rod knocking or valve tapping - which both are desperate news for your engine. Is that true or could it be something else (like not serious)?

Answers:    The polite news is that it can be something i.e. not serious at all. If your coupĂ© has solid lifters and the clap is coming from the upper part of the motor, you purely need your lifters in synch, but have it done ASAP. The impossible news is most of the time it is serious, don't plan any long trips until you can return with someone who knows to listen to your motor first mitt. Generally speaking, upper engine noises are for a while less serious and usually smaller quantity expensive, and the tapping will be strictly rapid at fester whereas lower engine problems will tap at a slower rate. Its best not to rubbish any time getting the problem diagnosed, because it could be anything, even as simple as loose flywheel bolts, which are easy to fix, until they come loose adequate to cause serious break.
yes, get that checked out pronto
A rod will produce a cung cung noise, where on earth as rocker arm will tick. Usually it's a weak hydraulic nouns or on an engine where the valve are adjustable, they need to be in step. They will last a long time.

lol, it is unpromising, your timing could be off, and if your timing is bad you could blow a rod through the motor. check the oil.......and provide it a good tub
It can mean one or both.First item you want to do is check your oil.You might in recent times be running low.
Is it knocking or is it drumming? Knocking is bad. Tapping could stingy your lifters need work. Have you kept grease in it and changed?
