Purchased in Jan.'06, this truck is give or take a few to go through its' third winter season.. Problem ? I plan on getting adjectives four tires re-balanced and having the shop use sticky stuff wheel weights on the REAR of the wheel ONLY.. Why ? Corrosion around nearly every clamp-on wheel cargo on the face of respectively wheel, cause, of course, by road saline attacking the aluminum because the wheel weights cut through the clear coat on the pedals.. With me so far ?? Hopefully I've caught this problem in time so that I can polish out the corrosion, or at smallest stop it from doing more damage by thorough use of my Dremel tool and some aluminum polish.. Question: What does Ford use to clear-coat these wheels ; Clear lacquer - OR - Clear enamel ?? Obviously these spots will enjoy to be re-painted & I want to use the correct paint.. I have access to both types.. Also ; How heaps coats & what prep solvent / cleaner should I use pre-paint ?? Please, NO guesses or " I Thinks' "..
Answers: I think, haha, that your going to hold to go to ford and get hold of the paint codes if your going to go it right but your probly a short time ago going to rig it and I wont help you do that to yourself.
