Here's the story,...bought this car a year ago rotten craigs list, drove it home going on for 1 1/2 1 way run like up to date. 6 months later started getting vaccum leak from the rear of TBI ( Throttle Body Injection ) and I replaced adjectives hoses. didn't change anything after driving it everywhere around town etc. in a minute another 4 months later it's not quite running at all, blowing blue-black smoke solely when I step on the gas, cars overdue for inspection, and 2 garages can't keep it running long satisfactory to put it through the dino machine tryout. they told me they'd start with giving it a full tune up...and said it's running mode to rich, but wouldn't tell me why in need paying $95.00 for the diagnosis. I don't wan't to junk it...I a short time ago put $500.00 into it, with exhaust, cv joint, valve cover gasket, pvc tap, fuel filter, air cleaner, heat guage etc. today it's raining out here, and it would't start, dry day's it will usually run ok. when it feels similar to it, so what should I do? it's got a 2.0L TBI
Answers: Normally I disagree next to people who first suggest shifting spark plug wires, but I have to agree next to Moises M here. Humidity will increase the potential for a short in the lower ignition. It may also be a good conception to change the spark plugs as economically in shield the ceramic portion is cracked.
This is a pretty unusual baggage. You mentioned vacuum leaks first, but that would build it run lean. Then you mention that it's running rich (which black smoke confirms).
change the plug wires. when it rain and car runs poor, thats usually what it is. that or the distributor boater. explains a why your car is also running rich and adjectives the black smoke
