Answers: i take it it be parked overnight at your place of work its not unknown for (pranks) to be played like blocking the exhaust beside something like an apple or potato this will hold the effect of choking the engine and stop it from firing
How could it be the alternator? If the battery have enough charge to turn the engine over next the alternator must be OK. Fuel, air and spark are what is required and adjectives at the right time. Undo a plug and hold it against the engine (through a glove or rag. You don't want a shock) and see if it sparks when the engine turns over. No spark - check ignition coil. Pop a long duster into the spark plug hole and turn the engine over - does the rag smell of petrol? Is the upper air filter so old you could use it for a spare helm? If it's think near muck - replace it.
