I have a 1992 Dodge Dynasty that is to say leaking fuel from a file towards the rear of the motor. Is the line rubber or metal and if it is metal can I replace it next to a rubber hose as I have be told it is cheaper? Also how much should I look to pay for this service, both if a metal row is needed and if a rubber one can be used? Thanks so much!
Answers: The fuel line is a metal tube running from especially near the gas container opening up to the engine compartment. The metal tubing is connected at both ends (engine and fuel pump) near flexible rubber hose with special fast release fittings on the ends that connect to the metal tube. If it's the rubber hose, labor should be about 1/2 hour. If it's the metal tube, labor will be much more. I don't know the book rate but I would guess at lowest possible two hours.
