01 cavalier short within electrics?

i have a short somewhere. my flipside defrosters dont work and my headlights went out completely. when the mechanic replaced my multi purpose switch today it didnt fix the headlights. he hit the side of the fly where the fuses r. when he did the lights come on. this is how he figured i own a short. (i didnt mention the rear defrosters i lost those the finishing of last winter and forgot going on for it until the weather got cool again but wouldnt that b from the short also?)
anyways, how much would it cost to enjoy the wiring done? its ok if its a rough ballpark integer. i dont no much about these things, but i a short time ago payed for it to b fixed plus i had a squirrel chew my spark plug and hose so i own to pay to enjoy those fixed so money is quickly becoming tight. im worried the electrics will b realy expensive. any insight?

Answers:    I would suggest taking it to an electrical shop. Most decent shops max out the diagnostic rate to an hour to determine the problem. Then they contribute you an estimate from there angelic luck dawg.
U probably have a loose chain on the Headlight switch. The rear defroster probably have a blown fuse. The fuse box probably has a bleak connector on the light fuse. IF he said it would fix the problem [& didn't] next my next name would be consumer affairs & the BBB. Also , some places let U borrow traps to relocate little critters. Sometimes the nouns @ the back glass comes loose where it connects to the wires within the rear glass.
