Car mobile disconnect - Rover 45?

Being new at this, basically want to confirm that its okay to disconnect just one of the wires on the mobile? And upon reconnection to simply put it back. I've also hear people mentioning that they appear to have problems beside there music players upon reconnection (invaild code etc). Would this be the casing with mine if the music system be factory installed? Thanks.

Answers:    Take a look inside you're manual, here should be a four digit passcode somewhere. Rover used to suppl them on a little credit card piece of plastic that the merchant hand wrote the code on.

if you enjoy it, go ahead and disconnect it, you can purely enter the code in when you reconnect the battery-operated.

If you haven't, budget lb15 for a local garage to obtain the keycode for you.
yes, but next just enter the 4 digit code to bring the stereo support online

If you own a factory fitted radio, it would require a code to be able to work after you hold disconnected the battery.

why do you entail to disconnect the battery?
Hi if you disconnect the motor battery it will knock out the radio and nouns sythem and need recoding if its a second appendage car the code will have need of to be reentered the code could be written down in the appendage book or sometime on the radio casing, ive done this copious times on my rovers allways a good perception to write it down somewhere save i put mine surrounded by my mobile phone memory other wise a sports car radio shop will reset it for you or a car buyer but will rip you off hope this is of some give support to stainless
Other people hold answered the radio code question so this is only just a reminder to be careful disconnecting your battery-operated.

ALWAYS disconnect the earth head (that's the positive one) first then, if you touch the motor body with the spanner/wrench you won't own a massive short. When reconnecting connect the earth head last.
back you disconnect the battery, breed sure you have the code for the stereo. the alarm shouldn't be a problem hope that help. kev
The earth head is the NEGATIVE one, not the positive!
Jesus, some people!

Anyhow, vertebrae to the question.
As have already been said, you will necessitate the 4 digit code for the radio. The other thing is, own you still got the remote control for the central locking? And is it working?
Rover's have an craving of clicking the immobiliser on when you reconnect the battery and the merely way to disarm it is beside the remote.
yes it would be the case so in the past you disconnect the batt make sure you hold the radio code. And for christs sake the earth head is negative black and minus
