Problem near brake on Camry?

I have only just bought a 97 camry and everything is fine with it except the brakes. its not that disk that come across to be the problem but the pedal.

Whenever i brake, the pedal seems really resistant and i can never brake swiftly due to this. I asked the dealer and they said my brakes be brand new and they could not find the source of the problem...
So very soon I have to start braking at 3 times the distance if i want to stop prompt

Any help?

Answers:    Sounds approaching the break booster is gone or the vaccumn hose has come past its sell-by date or broker.
The booster make it so when you enjoy to break you can do it with your tow and not your foot.
Check this part of the pack out.
Make sure there's proper functioning of the power brake vacuum assist. If it's got a seep, you'll experience a hard pedal.
