Do OE Replacement Parts Measure Up?

Original equipment replacement parts is sold over the counter of vehicle dealers and they read out they are the same or better than original. My experience says otherwise. My sports car muffler lasted nine years. I bought an OE replacement at the hawker for a high price and it last less than three years. What do you suppose?

Answers:    I'm somewhat confused by your statement. Most OE parts purchased at your dealer are made by sub-contractors to your sports car manufacturer's specifications. We never know who really makes these parts because the suppliers are other changing. Your saloon company places bids out to suppliers and unfortunately the lowest bid win.

We are supposed to believe OE stuff is the best but I'm with you. Take Ford for instance. Tie-rod ends turn bad contained by a very short time because they are hermetic units. If you're smart you replace near Moog or TRW fittings with grease fittings that will finishing forever. I'd like to place my 13 sized shoe surrounded by Ford's back side because they cut corners and put cheap inner and outer tie-rod ends on their cars.

You have faith that your replacement exhaust OEM system would live as long as the resourceful. Well, it seams that some low energy bidder made your pipes and muffler. Personally I've always have good luck beside Walker stuff as the hangers are correct and the pipes other fit. Our customers have be happy near the overall quality and natural life of their products.
OEM parts are the same as the original. These are the parts that your car be built with. OEM funds Original Equipment Manufacturer, not always ford, dodge, chevy, etc... If Moog make parts sold to Toyota for a car queue, then supply that part to NAPA to get rid of It is OEM. Maybe you had some other problems that cut the natural life down on your muffler. Or, there could hold been a modification in the materials that the section was made of. One instrument or the other, just obtain parts you trust. Either better price, or better quality, it's up to the consumer (you).
