drive in reverse and slam on your brakes, sometimes this releases air in the lines
u may need new brakes/brakepads. try pumping the brake to build up the pressure, if that dosent work them u may need new. Have this checked out my your mechanic. You may need to bleed your brake lines. Sometimes air can get trapped in there. This happened to me once and my brakes failed. This could be dangerous.
If you are hearing a hissing or whooshing noise when braking, the power brake booster may be bad.
